THE FUTURA SPACE HOUSE

The stunning reinvention of classic 60s architecture, enhanced for safety, comfort, and the tiny house movement.

As soon as you open the hatch door, this home becomes an adventure. Visitors will engage with many unique features – [oculus windows, a captain’s quarters for media, and the beautiful Celestial Viewing Deck] –perfect for vacationers, creatives, or any fan of Mid Century design and desert stars.

Our project is an updated version of the Futuro Space Pod House designed by pioneering architect Matti Suuronen in 1968.

Less than 100 were originally manufactured, and are a very rare find today, and inaccessible to most of the population. However, with its modern updates and streamlined manufacturing plans, the improved take on Futuro design would change this.

The original foam plug mold design (patent pending), will maintain strengths of the Matti Suuronrn design, but include innovations for modern living, making the Futura House an attainable goal; an accessible and affordable attraction, viable as both a travel destination and permanent residence.

"Futura" is a slightly larger, rounder version of Matti's wonderful design. It is also equipped with an array of new features, such as a Celestial Viewing Deck, spiral staircase, and [adjustable] windows. Electrical, plumbing, and modern appliances will be included, all styled to complement its singular aesthetic. Home buyers can tailor many aspects to fit their own vision or needs – being a compact structure, customizations are easily implemented.

There are two models of the Futura: one is more symmetrically round (the "space ship style"), and the other is a lager, oval-shaped version for additional room. With the shortage of new housing in the US, and a recent breakthrough in new forms of living--like tiny homes, cabins, and just plain stylized living--Futura is an easily constructed, highly adaptable, prefabbed home on four legs (all while meeting California building and safety standards).

Mold production has already begun, along with the purchase of the first plot of Futura-designated land (set to build in Yucca Valley, CA). Engineering firm Critical Structures Inc. has been employed to assist as well, having previously worked on the reconstruction of an original Futuro Home in Idyllwild, CA.

The Futura Space House has its first open house set for January of 2023. We hope to see you there; check back soon for the upcoming launch campaign!
